John C. Shelton is an associate in the Midland, Texas office of Hinkle, Hensley, Shanor & Martin, L.L.P.  Originally from Texas, Mr. Shelton graduated from Emory University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a minor in History.  He worked in numerous political and legislative offices while an undergraduate student, including an internship in the White House Office of Global Communications during the spring of 2003.  Before law school, Mr. Shelton worked in public relations, particularly with public affairs, energy, and technology related clients.  He attended Texas Tech University School of Law where he received a Doctor of Jurisprudence, cum laude, in May of 2011.  While in law school, Mr. Shelton completed the Law & Science Certificate Program with a concentration in Energy Law.  During his first year of law school, he was inducted into Phi Delta Phi.  Additionally, Mr. Shelton was a member of the Texas Tech Journal of Administrative Law as well as the Board of Barristers.  He is a member of the State Bar of Texas.
