Max E. Wright is a partner in the Midland office of Hinkle, Hensley, Shanor & Martin, L.L.P. Mr. Wright received his undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University, his Master of Arts from Sam Houston State University and his law degree from the University of Texas. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Sarah T. Hughes, United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas and also served as an Texas Assistant Attorney General, Organized Crime Division. Mr. Wright is member of the State Bar of Texas, the State Bar of New Mexico, the Midland County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is also member of the Texas Association of Defense Counsel, where he has been a member of the Board of Directors and West Texas Vice-President and in various committee assignments. Mr. Wright has served on the Pattern Jury Charge Committee and the Judicial Relations Committee for the State Bar of Texas, and currently serves on the State Bar of Texas Lawyers Assistance Program Committee. He is a member of DRI, the International Association of Defense Counsel, and the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has been a frequent speaker and author on the topics of voir dire and risk management for health care professionals.
Mr. Wright’s practice is focused on the areas of medical litigation, primarily in the defense of physicians and hospitals in lawsuits and administrative and regulatory hearings, oil and gas litigation, including drilling, downhole and oil country tubular problems, insurance litigation and complex general commercial litigation.
Mr. Wright is admitted to practice in both Texas and New Mexico, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Western Districts of Texas and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
