Elizabeth Atkinson Ryan is an Associate of the law firm of Hinkle, Hensley, Shanor & Martin, L.L.P. in Roswell, New Mexico. She practices with the firm’s natural resources section, primarily in the area of oil and gas title examination, contract preparation, negotiation, division orders, and litigation.Mrs. Ryan graduated summa cum laude from Lubbock Christian University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities, emphasis in pre-law, minor in Biblical studies. She is a 2006 cum laude graduate of Texas Tech University School of Law, where she received her Doctorate of Jurisprudence and served as the Executive Student Writing Editor for the Law Review. While on Law Review, she received the Outstanding Second Year Award and the distinguished W. Frank Newton Award for her service and leadership. Mrs. Ryan was a founding member of the law school’s Mineral Law Interest Group and the Sportsman’s Law Group and served as Managing Editor of the Texas Tech Lawyer alumni magazine.

Mrs. Ryan is currently the update author for Chapter 20 of the Law of Federal Oil and Gas Leases: Federal Land Records and Title Examination. She is a member of the New Mexico State Bar and the Chaves County Bar Association. She is also a member of the New Mexico Landman’s Association and the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation. She is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico and the New Mexico Supreme Court. Mrs. Ryan currently serves on the Board for the State Bar of New Mexico Section on Natural Resources, Energy, and Environmental Law and is a member of the Young Lawyer’s Division for the State Bar. A native of Roswell, New Mexico, Mrs. Ryan is also active in the community, serving as a member of the DWI Planning Council.
