Julia Joplin Swallow is a partner in the Midland, Texas office, was licensed to practice law in Texas in 1993 and in New Mexico in 1997. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Texas Tech University in 1989 with a minor in Spanish. Ms. Swallow earned her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center in 1993. She served as a law clerk in the summers of 1991 and 1992 in the legal department of PEMEX (Petroleos Mexicanos) in Mexico City, becoming fluent in Spanish. Ms. Swallow's current practice involves representation of financial institutions and oil and gas related companies in litigation matters. She has also handles family law matters, representing clients in divorces and adoptions. She is a frequent speaker and consultant for non-profits, on the issue of responsibilities and legal liabilities of board members.
Ms. Swallow is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Northern Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas. She is a member of the Midland County and American Bar Associations; State Bar of Texas; State Bar of New Mexico; College of the State Bar of Texas; Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation; Texas Association of Defense Counsel; National Center for Non-Profit Boards; Texas Association of Bank Counsel; Defense Research Institute; and the Texas Renewable Energy Industry Association.
Ms. Swallow serves on the Board of Directors of the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum, Library and Hall of Fame, and is active with the Junior League of Midland and
the First Presbyterian Church.
