     Hinkle, Hensley, Shanor & Martin's Litigation Group provides experienced, sophisticated representation to the Firm's clients in state and federal courts and before administrative tribunals.      Attorneys in the Litigation Group have extensive experience in specialized and complex civil litigation. The Group includes attorneys licensed in New Mexico, Texas, and a number of other jurisdictions, underscoring the Firm's regional practice. Under the broad umbrella of the Litigation Department, subgroups have been assembled to concentrate civil litigation efforts in five specific areas: commercial litigation, labor and employment matters, oil and gas and other natural resources, insurance and torts, and environmental litigation.

     Attorneys in each subgroup draw upon the experience and expertise of those in other litigation subgroups, and attorneys are often assigned to cases in subgroups other than their own specialty. The Litigation Department also frequently enlists the experience of lawyers in the Firm's other practice groups.

     A primary focus of attorneys in the Firm's Litigation Department is to maintain communication with clients during all facets of a litigation matter and to provide information and counsel to enable clients to realistically evaluate the legal issues and the practicalities of litigation. To accomplish this, lawyers in the subgroups strive to know and understand the businesses of the entities and individuals they serve.

Commercial Litigation

The Firm offers experienced litigation counsel in antitrust, bankruptcy, banking, contracts (including government contracts), construction,, corporations and partnerships, land use and zoning, public utility, real estate, securities, tax, and other substantive areas of commercial litigation.

Labor and Employment

Labor and employment attorneys represent private and public employers in all aspects of the rapidly developing field of labor and employment litigation. The lawyers in this group have extensive experience in labor and employment-related matters before state and federal courts, administrative agencies, and other bodies.

This subgroup's attorneys also represent employers and management in employment discrimination cases, wrongful discharge litigation, N.L.R.B. proceedings, union organizing campaigns, strikes, picketing and boycotts, collective bargaining, health and safety law, employee benefits, and wage and hour matters.

Oil and Gas and Other Natural Resources

The Firm is a recognized leader in the resolution of natural resources disputes. Clients range from individuals to multi-national oil and gas, service, and other natural resources companies. These litigators have broad experience in specific areas of natural resources, such as titles and contracts, exploration and operations, as well as in environmental matters.
